Anderson Sweet Home Project
(Also known as Take-A-Break Community Space)
Background
The Anderson community is located at the highest point in East Kowloon. It consists of On Tat Estate and On Tai Estate, which together have a population of nearly 50,000 residents, resulting in significant needs in various aspects such as transportation, education, employment, leisure, community culture and family development.
Supported by the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged of the Social Welfare Department and funded by Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation, the Anderson Sweet Home Project runs from October 2023 till September 2026. The key focus of the project is to support the positive and happy growth of children aged 6 to 13 living in the public housing community in Anderson Road through diverse activities. The aim is to establish various resting points within the community to alleviate the pressures of caregiving and parenting for families. At the same time, through training, women can become community caretakers, which increases their employment opportunities and builds social capital.
Service Objectives
- Reduce the caregiving and parenting pressures faced by low-income families.
- Enhance residents' emotional well-being and resilience.
- Increase employment opportunities for women and build community capital.
Service Targets
Children aged six to thirteen and their families residing in On Tat Estate and On Tai Estate (primary targeted beneficiaries).
